Who are we?
Threshold Theatre Arts has been running Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre and LAMDA classes at our main hub in Lee, SE12 since 2007. We are a family run school and offer a safe, friendly environment where we encourage our students to work to their full potential. Children meet new friends from different schools and learn valuable social skills, whilst boosting their confidence. In a culture of iPhones, iPads and screen watching, we offer face to face social contact, which is proven to have many physiological and psychological benefits. Many of our children have been with us since we opened our door and several have gone on to careers in the entertainment industry. Others have just loved being at Threshold for what we offer and for the sake of getting up every week and performing. From recreational to vocational, we cater to everyone.
We run kids drama, dance, musical theatre and Lamda classes on Thursday and Friday evenings for children age 4-18. Threshold’s shows are original, unique and bespoke, designed to give every child in the school the chance to shine. We have produced over nineteen shows since we opened our doors and our productions are hugely popular with children and parents alike.
Threshold offers agency representation for children who desire to work in the acting and musical theatre profession. Many of our children have appeared in West End shows and high end TV and film dramas, including : Oresteia (West End) , The Railway Children, School of Rock, Any Human Heart (Ch 4), Call the Midwife ( BBC1), Casualty (BBC1).
The health and safety of our children is paramount. All of our staff have enhanced DBS checks and there is always one staff member on site with first aid training.
